If your family likes to hit the road regularly, you want an SUV big enough for everyone to be supremely comfortable for the whole trip. Safety features are always paramount on family vehicles, but you also want the latest technology features for convenience and entertainment. You can get all of that and more in the 2024 Chevy Suburban. In fact, they’re standard even in the lowest trim, which barely costs more than a full-sized pickup.
Design
The 2024 Suburban is so spacious that even the second and third-row occupants won’t find themselves at all cramped. The automatic tri-zone climate control system allows each row to choose its preferred temperatures for maximum comfort. Since it’s easier to relax in a quiet cabin, Chevrolet has used acoustic laminate glass to dampen wind and road noise even when traveling at higher speeds. Of course, nothing guarantees a relaxing ride more than the Suburban’s Premium Smooth Ride suspension.
The driver’s seat is power-adjustable 10 ways, and even the front passenger has an 8-way power-adjustable seat. IntellliBeam headlights and automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers are standard. Also, controls for cruise control, Forward Collision Alert, and the Driver Information Center are conveniently mounted on the wrapped steering wheel.
Performance
The LS base model comes with a 5.3-liter V8 engine delivering 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, plus a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard on all Suburban models, but you can get 4-wheel drive on all of them.
Hill start assistance, keyless start, trailer sway control, and hitch guidance are standard. You can start your engine to pre-heat or pre-cool the Suburban before entering it with the remote start feature. That feature can also turn on your parking lights and lock the doors once the engine is turned on.
Technology
All the tech you need to enjoy your time on the road is already installed in the 2024 Suburban. A 4.2-inch color Driver Information Center and a 6-speaker sound system with three free months of Sirius XM are standard. An HD color touchscreen controls Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 system, which includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Bluetooth with voice-activated commands provides audio streaming and hands-free calling for two devices.
You also get three years of OnStar Remote Access. The front row has two USB data ports, one USB-A and one USB-C. The second and third rows each have two USB-C charging ports.
