To give you the perfect power for your job, there are four possible engines you can choose from. The standard engine is a TurboMax engine that’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. For more profound performance, there are three available engines you can upgrade to, including a 5.3L V8, a 6.2L V8, and a 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel.
The 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine is the most powerful engine option for the Sierra 1500. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission to generate 305 horsepower at 3750 rpm and 495 lb.-ft. of torque at 2750 rpm. The 3.0L Duramax has a maximum towing capacity of 13,200 pounds.
Exterior Elements
Exterior features on the Sierra 1500 include a CornerStep rear bumper that makes it easier to climb into your cargo box, cab-mounted cargo area lamps that provide light during evening projects, and twelve cargo tie-downs that help you secure large items. The available GMC MultiPro tailgate can be placed in six different positions to load and haul various types of cargo. Other available exterior features include heated power outside mirrors, LED fog lamps, and a tailgate with EZ Lift.
Seating Configuration
Seating in the Sierra 1500 consists of a 40/20/40 split front bench and a 60/40 split rear bench. You can lift the seat bottoms on the front bench to reveal a hidden storage compartment for small items or fold up the seat bottoms on the back seat to create cargo room on the floor.
Connectivity and Entertainment
The new Sierra 1500 comes with a 7-inch infotainment screen that has built-in smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sync your phone to the truck and use voice commands to make hands-free phone calls, send text messages, or access your personal playlists.
