A black GMC Terrain

GMC is known for its rugged vehicles that can withstand the rough demands of work and play. Today, your local GMC dealership will discuss several affordable models that can be purchased for under $40,000 in 2025.

1. 2025 GMC Canyon

The Canyon delivers competitive performance in the midsize truck segment. It’s equipped with a 2.7L TurboMax engine that offers 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It supports a maximum towing capacity of up to 7,700 pounds when properly equipped, making it ideal for various hauling needs. The truck’s trim lineup is diverse, and it includes the off-road geared AT4 and AT4X with standard 4WD, a 2-inch factory lift, and beefy all-terrain tires.

The Canyon comes solely in a crew cab configuration (4 doors, 5 seats) with a 5-foot bed. The cabin has been thoughtfully designed to provide ample legroom and headroom for all passengers, and plenty of interior storage space. The 2025 model has been upgraded to include an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A 360-degree camera with multiple views comes standard in higher trims.

2. 2025 GMC Sierra 1500

The Sierra 1500 is a full-size pickup that offers a range of powertrain options. The standard engine is the same TurboMax engine as in the Canyon. Two V8 options are available: a 5.3L and a 6.2L. The bigger engine offers up to 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and is only available with 4WD configurations, while the smaller option is available in almost all trims. A 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine is also available that uses 495 lb-ft of torque to enable a 9,500-lb max towing capacity.

The Sierra 1500 is available in a range of cab and bed configurations. Seating options range from 3 to 6 passengers, while bed lengths vary from 5.8 feet to 8 feet. Like the Canyon, the interior is designed with comfort and convenience in mind. The top-tier Denali Ultimate trim includes genuine leather seating, leather-covered surface, and open-pore wood trim. It also includes 16-way power heated and ventilated front seats with massage features.

3. 2025 GMC Terrain

The Terrain is a compact SUV that enters a new generation in 2025, featuring an updated look with more advanced technology. It’s powered by a 1.5L four-cylinder that produces 175 hp. It’s available in front-wheel or all-wheel drive and comes with either an 8-speed automatic or CVT transmission.

On the inside, drivers are greeted with a driver-focused layout and a truck-inspired aesthetic. All models come with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel for maximum comfort. New for 2025 is a 15-inch vertically oriented touchscreen that includes built-in Google software. The infotainment system is paired with an updated 11-inch driver information center.
