The Denali features a signature chrome grille, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, and chrome assist steps. The AT4X features an off-road optimized suspension, 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels, and a specialized front fascia for improved approach angles. The range-topping Denali Ultimate includes a darkened Vader chrome grille, 22-inch premium finish wheels, and power-retractable assist steps with LED perimeter lighting.

The Sierra 1500's 2.7-liter turbo high-output engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission generates 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, standard on the Pro, SLE, and Elevation trims. The available 5.3-liter V-8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission for SLT and AT4 trims delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. A powerful 6.2-liter V-8 on the Denali, AT4X, and Denali ultimate trims produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Various trims boast an available 3.0-liter Duramax turbo diesel engine with 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

The Sierra 1500 boasts a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds (with proper equipment) and payload capacities of 2,230-2,530 pounds. The 6.2-liter V-8 engine can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 5.4 seconds. The AT4 and AT4X trims feature Terrain Mode Select with multiple drive modes, while the AT4X adds electronic locking front and rear differentials. Adaptive ride-control suspension enhances ride quality in the Denali and Denali Ultimate trims. The MultiPro tailgate system adds versatility with six functions and positions.
