Performance
The new Silverado 1500 comes with a TurboMax engine that’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission to deliver 310 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 430 lb.-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm.
Available engine options include a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine, a 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine, and a 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. The 3.0L Duramax engine provides the most intense performance, ​yielding 305 horsepower at 3750 rpm and 495 lb.-ft. of torque with a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds.
Exterior
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has a CornerStep rear bumper that makes it easier to climb into your cargo box and 17-inch ultra silver steel wheels that are paired with all-season blackwall tires. The high-strength steel Durabed is made to withstand cargo of all kinds without so much as a scratch, while the cab-mounted cargo area lamps provide plenty of lighting during evening work.
Interior
The Chevy Silverado 1500 has a spacious cabin that can seat six passengers in total. The front bench is a 40/20/40 split with 4-way manual controls for the driver and outboard passenger. The rear seat is a 60/40 split bench with seat bottoms that can be lifted up to create cargo space on the floor.
Notable interior features include assist handles located at each door, power windows, and a 3.5-inch monochromatic driver information center. The rubberized vinyl floor covering can be quickly removed and cleaned, and the manual tilt steering column can be adjusted as needed.
Safety
The 2025 Silverado 1500 comes with OnStar Basics, which includes remote commands, built-in voice assistance, GPS navigation, real-time traffic updates, and Automatic Crash Response. Automatic Crash Response connects you to an emergency advisor when it detects your truck has been in a severe collision.
Other safety features of the new Silverado 1500 include the Chevy Safety Assist driver-assistance package, Rear Seat Reminder, and Teen Driver. There are six airbags placed throughout the Silverado’s cabin, including dual-stage frontal airbags and seat-mounted side-impact airbags.
Technology
The Silverado 1500 comes with a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration for hands-free phone calls, texting, and more. The 1500 LT and all higher trims feature a 13.4-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system with Google built-in. Google built-in provides access to Google Play, Assistant, Gmail, and Maps.
The new Silverado 1500 also has Wi-Fi hotspot capability for up to ten devices. This hotspot works within fifty feet of your truck, allowing you to browse the web or stream TV shows and movies while spending time outdoors.
